Loving nature is an art project relating to love, enjoyment and respect for nature. On each painting Gabriela Delgado places emphasis in the color, carefully choosing the items that blend harmoniously to achieve a lush but simple finish. The research and the genuine love she has for design gives her an intuitive ability to create vibrant colored pieces with spot elements ranging from the fantastic to the ingenuous. Her culture and personal experiences also play an important role, since they shape the compositions into unique visual narratives.
Qadem Hooks is an art piece with a console function inspired by nature. It is composed of different painted green old hooks, which were used together with the Qadem (an old wooden mule's saddle back) for transporting wheat from one village to another. The hooks are attached to an old Wheat Thresher Board,as a base and finished with a glass panel on top.
KSD-1 is a modern classic lounge chair whose design was based on vintage racecars. The composition is constructed as a vintage race car, where the main part is the chassis (to which a body and accessories are attached). The chair´s main aesthetics is the body shape, which can be materially customized to the client’s preference. The standard materials are paint-coated sheet metal and satin finished wood panels. The upholstery follows traditional racing patterns from early racecars.
A proposition of partition that utilize conifer parts inefficiently; that is, the slender part of the trunk’s upper half and the irregular shaped part of the roots. I paid attention to the organic annual rings. The overlapping organic patterns of the partition created a comfortable rhythm in an inorganic space. With the products born from this cycle of material, organic spatial-direction becomes a possibility for the consumer. Furthermore, each product’s uniqueness gives them a much more higher value.
The idea of make up and fashion accessories immediately prompts thoughts of glamour and desirability. These designs look back to a period of rich ornament and colour. These mirrors are all part of a range of designs which allow for different usage. They are collectible as well as practical increasing the commercial opportunity. Each mirror utilizes a unique combination of materials and traditional craft techniques in achieving high quality highly decorative accessories. Hand coloured organza and use of semi precious stones bring colour and vibrancy to each piece.
I innovate in moulded glass to create sculptures and architectural features. Colour and form language are the elemental aesthetic considerations in all work I generate, and the ability to tailor make a palette range for each project provides unique outcomes. Permanent transparency and saturation of hue coupled with compressive strength provides an ideal structural material that is characteristically activated by light and space. In researching this work I am fascinated by geometric patterns in three dimensional structures and see great potential applications in contemporary architecture
